These patented claims have the potential of an economic mine or an extraordinary mountain retreat. The surface topography is steep mountain slopes with old growth grand fir and grassy meadows along Squaw Creek. Views from the upper meadows, which are surrounded by thousands of acres of government land, are spectacular. Artesian springs attract Elk, Deer, and Antelope. Elevations run from 5900 feet to 7000 feet. The property is located about 165 miles from Boise.

The mine has a long history dating back to the 1880's. It's most famous owner was the Ford Motor company which acquired it in 1925 with American Smelting and Refining who operated the mine on Ford's behalf through WW2. After the war, Bunker Hill Mining company bought the mine and through successors continued to own it until 1995.

Communications with former owners and mine workers reveal that the Redbird Mine has produced about 2 million ounces of silver. A working map of the 9th and 10th levels show silver values of 50 ounces per ton or more. The nine working levels above ground could be re-opened with only minor repairs.

There are three known reports on the mine area, two of which are still in print, which are available upon request to qualified buyers. There are several hundred maps available and some smelter returns from past operators.
