The Beartrack Placer is adjacent to the Beartrack mine in the Florence Mining District in central Idaho. The ore from that mine was reported to have ran 25 ounces per ton. The early day miners were able to pan an average of an ounce per day downstream from the Beartrack mine. The Idaho Historical series report that 4 men working with 2 rockers gathered 100 lbs. in two days on Nov. 19th and 20th of 1861 from a nearby claim. Noted geologist Waldmar Lindren noted that the gold came from the same vein that the Beartrack mine is on. This is a 640 acre placer claim. This includes the original Beartrack mine. It is on a stream with no salmon, steelhead or bulltrout. There is an old dredge pon about a half mile downstream that acts like a settling area. This makes the Beartrack placer an excellent dredge claim or lode for only $50,000. An exploration plan is under review.
