Description:
- Location: Nansen Mountain area, North of Whitehorse, west
of Carmacks, Yukon
The Klaza river
claims and campsite are located 10 miles from the BYG (British Yukon
Gold) hard rock mine site in a permafrost area. Access is by a government
Maintained road for 62 km out of Carmacks, the final 17-km maintained
by the miner. The overlying material is glacial till, with two to
four feet of black muck, six to eight feet of gravel over six or
more feet of gold bearing clay. Most of the gold is found in the
clay under the gravels. Pay materials range from $10 to $35. As
a one-man operation, the owner has been able to put through 30-35
yards per hour at an average net return of $10 to $15 per yard.
@$600.00 per oz net return.
There are 53
claims in the Klaza River property, in which 15 claims are on left
limit tributary of Klaza River with additional adjoining 7 claims
at base of this property on Klaza River, an additional 5 claims
and 2 leases (equivalent 26 claims) of un-proven, but of good potential
on an adjoining creek that are included. There is sufficient water
throughout the mining season.
Licenses for
mining in place that include water Licence and land use licence.
There is great expansion potential here. The present owner goes
into camp in late March for maintenance and leaves late September,
actually mining 3 - 4 months. The equipment and number of claims
would make this operation ideal for a 2 or 3 man operation.
