An unpatented mining claim in the Florence Mining District of central Idaho. The Florence placer district includes 10 square miles of southern Idaho county and is located just north of the east west trending Salmon River Canyon. Access is by well maintained road. In addition to gold and platinum the area is believed to contain uranium, thorium, allanite, and rare earths.

There is in excess of 1,000,000 yards of mineable material. It is estimated that the entire Florence Mining District averages $18.00 of gold, at current prices, per yard of material. Since these are gulch placers there will be a concentrating factor that would make the amount per yard higher. Current assays indicate .4895 ounces per ton.

Just prior to WWII, the Idaho Bureau of Mines and Geology in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey did an examination called: Geology and Ore Deposits of the Florence Mining District, Idaho County, Idaho. This is an unbiased report that tested 37 sites, of which one-half of the test sites are on this claim. Four out of the five patented lode claims in this area drain into this claim. A recent assay report confirms the Idaho Bureau of Mines report that "in the early placer work considerable gold was probably lost because of the gold-saving machines used were inefficient." The drainage has been examined and no endangered species or their critical habitat is present.

The claim would be suitable for dredging or surface mining.
